Last September a new unit, purposely built to cater for pupils in the autistic spectrum, opened in our school. This is the only integrated autism unit to cater for high functioning pupils with autism in the south Kerry area. This class can provide a suitable education for up to six pupils. Two pupils are currently attending this class and a third is awaiting enrolment. These pupils have the advantage of receiving individual attention while being enabled to integrate with their peers for a certain subjects.

As we urgently require space for the new class we converted the existing gym. We are now in the process of building a new gym.

The Department of Education & Science provide limited funding for building and fundraising.
